Madison Myers, Junior, Garrison FFA Secretary My SAE is Diversified Crop Production Placement. I help my dad on the family farm with various tasks such as rolling peas, working on equipment, and cleaning grain bins. I enjoy this SAE because I enjoy farming, and hope to farm in the future. I also have a Specialty Crop Production SAE where I raised a quarter of peas this past year.

Mackenzie Fuller, Junior, Garrison FFA Reporter My SAE is wildlife Management. With my SAE I help work on my dad's land. I help plant trees, corn, and food plots. Sometimes I help him spray the weeds too. I started in 2010 and I will keep working on it. We have planted over 2000 trees on our land, and now have a great area to hunt. So far we have harvested 8 deer in the past 10 years. We grow enough sweet corn to last us through the whole year. This past summer I won the Alexa Jo Young Scholarship for $250 to use on my SAE project. With that money I bought and planted more trees, to give the wildlife a habitat.

Libby Heger, Junior, Underwood High School, Garrison FFA Treasurer Libby's SAE is breeding, raising, and showing Boer goats. Libby focuses her time on animal nutrition, barn efficiency, and marketing Boer kids and yearlings. It is important to her to provide livestock to others that have strong genetics yet are affordable. She wants to provide opportunity for youth and younger show folk to experience the show ring. With this breed being a meat bread, Libby also keeps an eye on animal structure and muscle tone so that the meat product of the animal is of high quality. Libby has been working with her SAE for 3 years and involved in showing Boer goats for 8 years.

Olivia Klein, Senior, Garrison FFA Vice President My SAE is Beef Production. I have 12 cows that I have raised and bred for 4 years. I sell the steers in the fall and depending on the number of heifers there is, I either hold them back or add to the herd later on or sell them along with the steers. Once the calves are weaned, they are brought to a different pasture and are fed a mixed feed until late November, then they are sold.
