Bob Callies Elementary School recognized October 2026 Students of the Month today during our Halloween assembly! Luka Reynolds: I would like to nominate Luka for SOM because he consistently demonstrates what it means to be respectful, responsible, and a hardworking learner. He comes to school ready to learn each day, listens carefully, follows directions, and always tries his best. He is kind and helpful to both his classmates and his teachers and sets a great example through his respectful behavior. He is not always the loudest person in the room, but he is positive and puts forth a strong effort in the classroom. Bryn Nordquist: I would like to nominate Bryn for Student of the Month because she has been such a wonderful addition to our classroom! Even though she is new, she has already made a positive impression with her attitude and effort. She comes to class with a positive outlook and understands that each day is a new opportunity to learn something new and grow. She takes pride in her work and truly wants to do her best. I appreciate the way she approaches learning with a willingness to try, improve, and make the most of every opportunity. Her positive attitude and determination are wonderful qualities, and I am excited to see her continue to grow and succeed. Bryn is very deserving of this recognition! Congratulations to both Luka and Bryn!

Bob Callies Elementary is hosting a vehicle fair this afternoon from 2-3pm for all PreK-6th grade students. The event will be held in front of the elementary school and in the St. Nicholas Catholic Church parking lot. Our students will be learning about how vehicles and tools are used for various careers, and we invite area daycares, families with younger children, and homeschool students to join us to check out the vehicles! If you are bringing children to the vehicle fair, please ensure they will have immediate adult supervision. We hope to see you there!

The "Most Extra" Award goes to a teacher who represents the very best of what it means to be an educator. This teacher holds her students to high standards because she genuinely believes in their potential. She teaches her students that their learning matters, their effort matters, and their choices matter. She holds them accountable while also giving them the support, encouragement, and guidance they need to succeed.
She meets students where they are, helps them recognize where they can go, and walks alongside them until they get there. She celebrates their successes, encourages them through their challenges, and reminds them that a difficult moment does not define their ability to succeed.
She makes lessons fun, engaging, and relatable. She connects what students are learning to the world around them and creates experiences that make students want to participate, ask questions, and discover something new. In her classroom, learning isn't simply something students are required to do--it is something they can experience, enjoy, and take ownership of.
The way she cares for all of her students inside and outside the classroom is truly remarkable. She is kind, caring, compassionate, and empathetic. She takes the time to listen to and understand that every student who walks into her classroom is carrying a different story, different experiences, and different needs. It is an honor to have this teacher be a part of our school team.
Congratulations, and thank you for being the kind of teacher every student deserves, Miss Sammi Benjamin!

Congratulations to our Bob Callies Elementary School September Students of the Month! Their nominations were so thoughtfully written: "Avery has been extremely conscientious and vocal about her academic goals each week. She strives to earn the Presidential award at the end of the year and checks in with me to know what she can improve upon. She is kind in her thoughts, words, and actions. She journals frequently about her intention to make other students happy and to make their day more special." "Merrick is consistently respectful, hard-working, courteous, and kind. I can always count on him to participate and help out. Merrick is an excellent role model to his classmates and younger students. He is a great leader now and no doubt will be for years to come!" Congratulations Avery and Merrick!
