With school being canceled, there will be no Girls' basketball, JH basketball, cheerleading, and archery practice. Wrestlers will not be going to Velva for the Quad and the Boys basketball game in Hazelton has been postponed to a date that is being determined soon. Stay safe and warm.
All,
The weatherman was right on wind so far, which means the 50+ mph gusts are likely coming. That being said, visibility is poor in the country and both the city and county roads are drifting in.... Meaning, it's only going to get worse, so NO school today. Plans regarding finals for grades 7-12 will come out later this morning for tomorrow. Stay safe and warm.
Thank you,
Dr. K.
All,
Based on current conditions from driving around and not using my son's reasoning, we will be having a late start on Thursday. School will begin at 10:00 with staff reporting at 9:30. There will be no breakfast or PK, and buses running where possible at driver's discretion. However, based on the current forecast, the wind is supposed to blow much harder and weather people rarely get the wind wrong... That being said, I will make the call no later then 8:00 am should we cancel for the day.
Thank you,
Dr. K.
In partnership with NDSU Extension Center, Bob Callies Elementary held a full day Safe Sitter course for 6th graders today. Each student learned important skills for taking care of younger children and received a sitter supply kit. We appreciate the time and expertise from our multiple presenters as well as the sponsorship we received from GAIA to help fund this endeavor.

We are ready for Friday's Christmas movie! Here are some important notes:
*No Mike and Ike’s so we substituted for airhead extremes.
*We ran out of skittles so some substituted starburst.
*We ran out of blue Powerade so substituted water.
**If these substitutions are an issue, we can exchange these products only with the child’s bag showing proof of purchase and unopened product on Friday morning at the theater.
Thank you to SACA for this awesome partnership, as well as to our staff who coordinated and packed up the snacks!

JH Boys' Basketball begins tomorrow, 3:45 at the elementary. Physicals and fees need to be turned into the office at the high school.

We had a great time with our Cookies and Cards event! We learned so many games and found out we can do math while playing! Fun!

Wanted: Donations for small sale items for our Elementary Student Council to sell at Santa's Workshop. If you are trying to downsize your children's gently used or new toys before you're getting more, or you have some small new or gently used gift items that you no longer need that would fit into a small gift bag, we would be interested! Please contact Mrs. Fuller at 701-463-2213 by Dec. 9 to arrange drop off or if you have any questions. Thank you!
Our Cards and Cookies event is underway! If you registered and haven't made it yet, head over to the elementary gym! You aren't too late until after 6!

Let's keep building this pile of cereal to have a trail of dominoes through the school AND donate to our food pantry at the same time! Bring them to the elementary by Dec. 5 and we will line them up Friday, Dec. 6, and knock them down! Which House group can have the most donated?

Garrison Junior High and HS Winter Concert Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 PM at the HS gym

The JH game that was postponed on Tuesday will now be played on December 5th at 4pm in Turtle Lake.
All, I am on my second country loop after digging out the school... I will be frank and say as nasty out here as it was the first time. Visibility is near zero in several places and I have hit 2-4' drifts in spots. Given the wind is not supposed to reduce until later today, I've made the unfortunate decision to cancel school. Stay safe and warm!

All,
School will be starting at 10:00 am with staff reporting by 9:40. The roads were not great on the route tonight and are only getting worse with more snow/near zero visibility. There will be no AM preschool or breakfast. Should we need to cancel, that decision will be made by 8:00 am.
Thanks.
Dr. K.
The JH game in Turtle Lake has been postponed(a later date TBD)
Also, no wrestling practice in Velva today. Stay safe and warm
Dr. K. here...
Winter has come. That being said, I'm out checking roads with nothing significant to report at this time. However, the forecast is showing greater chances of snow paired with high winds later today throughout tomorrow. Visibility and ice building under the snow could make travel interesting. I will reassess things upon my return from driving bus this afternoon and also tomorrow morning. Should there be a need for postponement or cancellation you will be notified.
Thank you!
