Our sixth graders have been helping us with keeping our school clean after breakfast! They are doing such a great job taking turns each week. It takes a team to keep things the way we want them in times when we all are in need of additional employees. Our students are taking ownership of the building and are such good role models to our younger students! We are grateful to our custodians for being patient and helping our students learn how to best help as well, rewarding classroom efforts with a traveling “BEST” banner for clean classrooms!

Well, it may not have been the outcome we wanted, but it’s still an incredible accomplishment to make it to state back-to-back years. We are all proud of you!

Unfortunately, our Lady Troopers fell short against Thompson tonight. This means we will have school all day on Friday. There will be a fan bus to Bismarck that leaves at 3:00. The sign up will come out once I get home tonight. Thanks. Dr. K.

All, I still plan on taking the fan bus to Bismarck. If you do not want your child to ride, please call the high school as soon as possible at 701-463-2818 and let Mrs. Osterlund or myself know. For those riding, please make sure you have a winter coat, hat, and gloves. Thank you. Dr. K.

All, Just did my morning drive. Travel speeds are reduced at times due to limited visibility. Also, there’s some drifting on east west county roads more than the north south. Please allow for extra time for travel this morning as school will start on time. Bus may experience some delays. Dr. K.

All, I'm finally getting caught up from last week's wild ride. Looking ahead to this week, our Lady Troopers are heading to state and play Thursday at 3:00 in Bismarck against Thompson. School will dismiss for everyone at 1:15 to allow all to go to the game. There's fan bus open to anyone wishing to ride free of charge, but you are responsible for game admission. See the link on Facebook or the Live feed. If they win, they will play 1:00 Friday, which means School will dismiss at 11:15 (only if they win Thursday). Some will disagree with my decision to dismiss school, while I understand this, I believe it's important to be present in supporting our students, especially at state given it is usually not a yearly occurrence. Dr. K. PS... for those of you wanting the early dismissal Friday, I better see you in the stands Thursday. Our Troopers love a loud crowd! https://forms.gle/ULTxNYVhzum3MGXH9

info about Math/Tech Night
All, Based on the forecast, the fan bus to Fargo will NOT be going regrettably. I know it is disappointing, but I cannot take this risk knowing the dangers. My sincerest apologies. The bus going to New Salem will still happen and is departing today at 2:00 pm. Dr. K.

All, Based on the current forecast of 400 mph winds accompanied by several inches of snow creating near zero visibility paired with the freezing rain I just drove bus through, I have decided we will not have school on Thursday. I hope this affords you all ample opportunity to make the appropriate arrangements. Have a safe and enjoyable 4-day weekend.

All, My apologies for the late notice but there were many variables that went into this decision. We will be dismissing school at 2:00 pm tomorrow, Wednesday. Buses will run at this time too. This will accommodate the many students who will be absent tomorrow afternoon due activities along with allow staff to attend staff these events. We appreciate everyone’s willingness to be flexible.

All, With the impending weather forecast, the NDHSAA has given us permission to change the championship date of the Region 5 volleyball tournament. With the approval received from the administration of the remaining four schools involved in the tournament, we will be changing the final night of the tournament to the afternoon of Wednesday, November 9. We will be starting with the third and fourth place match at 2:00 central that day. Doors will open at 1:00 central. We will be having the awards ceremony following the championship match, honoring the all-region players and the awarding of the four regional plaques to the respective teams. New Salem-Almont will be holding school that day, so we ask that all teams and fans stay in the gymnasium and commons (concessions) area. We will also be leaving with our football team early that afternoon, but this should not be a problem in the gym area.
