Dr. K. Here....
We received some fantastic news after years of hard work, dedication, and consistentcy from all of us who have worked tirelessly to make this happen. Bob Callies Elementary School is being recognized as a Title I High-Performing School.
The criteria for the Title I High Performing School highlights success within the top 5-10% of Title I schools based on North Dakota’s accountability framework in the school performance indicators.
Additional award criteria include:
-Demonstrated improvement during the last three years
-Fall with the top 10% of Title I schools experiencing growth in the performance indicators
-Have a significant number of economically disadvantaged students.
In addition to the recognition, the school is being awarded additional Title I funds ranging from $60-75,000. These funds can be used on any allowable Title I activity to help strengthen your current Title I program. The Title I awards program funds allow schools to innovate and expand educational experiences to meet learners’ needs. More information will be coming soon along with a formal press release from the state.

Fill the bucket for a great cause!

Come to the city auditorium today between 5:30-7:30 pm for a hands-on science night, including the opportunity to enter the Discovery Dome and complete STEMZone activities! All ages welcome at this free event!

Reminder… there’s school on Monday as it will serve as storm make up day. Have a good weekend.
Jody Kerzman at KFYR-TV visited Bob Callies Elementary School this morning. She heard about how our awesome volunteer sixth graders help clean up after breakfast and wanted to learn more! Keep your eyes out for a short piece to air on the morning show tomorrow and something longer tomorrow evening.
PS: fun fact that our school is named after a long-time beloved custodian! What a fitting tribute to his kindness that our students have going on now!
Mark your calendars on January 18 for an awesome family event! This will be held at no charge because of our Family Engagement Grant! See you there!

Our camera is back up running! It is a nice feature that we are allowed to offer streaming services but this camera and its software is a huge component for our teams. Our coaches and players use it daily for scouting, stats, career data, and practice plans. Thank you for understanding. Check us out on https://youtube.com/@GarrisonAthletics
Today's Boys shootout in Garrison

Reminder that elementary students are having their movie and parties today, rescheduled from before our break! We are also having pj day today if you’d like to wear school-appropriate pajamas!
All,
Now that we are actually on Christmas break...I want to take this time to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you all enjoy your time with family and friends! Hopefully, when we return we don't have to deal with as much snow and wind... Safe travels to those who are venturing out, but you may want until candy cane lane clears up today.

The FFA has extra fruit, cheese, and summer sausage! Please contact Mrs. Riemer if you are interested.

All,
Due to the fluffy white garbage on the ground this morning and the 40 mph winds the weathermen can always get right, there will be no school on Thursday. Individual instructions for each building will be sent out and listed separately to the live feed, Facebook, text, and phone call.
Thank you and have a merry Christmas! Hopefully, Mother Nature gets her act together or she’s getting Coal!

Attn High School Students -- With school closure, tomorrow's finals will be virtual. If you need to take a final, teachers will upload them into google classroom. You will need to take these finals during your assigned finals time. Some teachers may require you to be in a google meet and the final will be done with your video on at all times. Other teachers will have their final on go formative. It will open at your assigned final time and close at your time. Just a reminder, the schedule for tomorrow will be as follows: 4th hour 8:55-10:20, 5th hour 10:30-11:55, 6th hour 12:30-1:55, and 7th hour 2:05-3:30.
If you don't have internet at your house, please call the high school office during your assigned time. Mrs. Osterlund will keep track of these names and let your teachers know. For those students who have this issue, we will need to put an incomplete in your final grades. Once you complete this test early next year, I will go back into your historical grades and put in the proper grade. Again, it is your responsibility to call the office in the morning and let Mrs. Osterlund know. The office phone number is 701-463-2818. If you do NOT complete your final during your assigned time or you do NOT contact the school, you will receive a 0 on the final.
Mother nature hasn't cooperated with us much these past couple of weeks. I am proud of the resiliency of both the teachers and students. We have made the best of a bad situation. I hope you all finish strong and have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Years.
Thanks -- Mr. Dangel
Attention Elementary Students and Families: With school closure, tomorrow's plans will be postponed to Friday, January 6, 2023. We will plan our movie for that morning and our New Year's celebrations that afternoon in lieu of our planned activities for tomorrow. Any concessions money and gifts you have sent in will be kept for use on that date. We sent all of the students' winter items home with them today in case of school closure so they can enjoy their break. It has certainly been a challenging and interesting winter so far! We appreciate your flexibility and understanding with all of the changes, and hope that the break and new year will bring a fresh start and better weather! Stay safe and warm, enjoy your family and friends, and I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ~Mrs. Fuller
All,
The forecast tomorrow is awful, as Mother Nature continues to be off her meds. The temps with wind chill is forecasted to be at -55 plus blizzard conditions. This will be a stretch for our buses. Drivers will proceed with extreme caution as always and use their discretion. In addition, I will have two buses in the the oven at school should I need to go out if there are any issues. PLEASE ensure all students have necessary winter gear for the next two days of school.
Thanks.
