
Great day with a. Great group of kids at the Region 1 Acalympics. I enjoy watching kids compete over academics. Our 6 students competed all day. We finished tied for second in the large group schools after the Preliminary Rounds. We finished 2nd overall in the final rounds. Spelling Galileo wrong cost us a 1 point deduction. Thanks for the great day and representing GHS so well!!





Pep Bus Permission Slip to attend the Troopers vs. Flasher game in Mandan on Monday, February 24 at 1:30 pm. We need at least 20 students to attend for the bus to go. Please consider sending your student in grades 7-12 on the bus. Due Friday at noon!

We received another $1,000 grant written by Dr. Klemisch from the ND Wildlife Federation for our trap club. To date, he has written and our club has received approximately $13,000 grants from the ND Wildlife Federation. Thank you for your continued support!

On Wednesday Junior High students competed at the McLean County Math Counts competition. Here are the results:
Gavin Ruud — 3rd (State Qualifying)

Justis Klabunde — 15th
The team placed 2nd and it consisted of Mara Krzmarzick, Evan Rensch, Kadin Kolden, and Matthew Joachim.

Bob Callies Elementary held the School competition of the 2019-2020 National Geographic GeoBee Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. Rylan Myers (center) took first place, Brady Kinden (left) placed second, and Emmit Lagge (right) placed third. Rylan will advance to the next level of competition, a qualifying test to determine state competitors. If Rylan qualifies, he will attend the ND State GeoBee, held in Bismarck March 27.

Hip Hip Hooray! It’s the 100th Day! Our Kindergarten classes were invaded by centenarians today! Aren’t they great?


Reminder... permission slips for the fan bus will be turned into Dr. K. when your child gets on the bus. Please make sure you send money to cover admission and we will return as soon as the games conclude. We will leave at 5:30 sharp.

Someone you should know... McKenna Mai, GHS Alum, has been graciously volunteering her and therapy dog Kimber’s time at the high school since mid January. Kimber (and McKenna) have been are welcome support to our students. Thank you for all you do for our students.
