RE: 7th Grade Orientation
I hope everyone has had a relaxing and phenomenal summer. We are a couple of weeks away from the beginning of the school year. If you are like me, the excitement and the nervousness of the new school year is starting to kick in. The new school year brings so many new opportunities. A new building, new teachers, new classes, and a new schedule. A schedule that allows you to move from class to class. With all the new opportunities, comes a feeling of nervousness. Will I be able to open my locker? Will the teachers help me? What if I get lost? What if I go to the wrong classroom? These are all feelings that most of our new students feel.
On Wednesday August 7th, I will be holding an orientation at the high school. This is not a requirement, but a great opportunity for students and parents to tour the high school. Fortunately, we have had a couple of tours at the end of the last year. Students should have an idea on the layout of the school. Unfortunately, parents have not been part of this process. August 7th will allow students and parents to tour the school again, receive their schedules, do a “mock” walk-through of their schedule, and lastly, receive their lockers and combos. Students will have time to learn how to open their lockers.
With 34 students in the 7th grade class, I have broken the class down into 2 groups.
12:30-1:45 – All students with the last name A-K
2:00 – 3:15 – All students with the last name L-Z
I will have a couple of teachers available to help with any concerns you or your student may have. If this time doesn’t work and you would like to find a different time, please email Steve.Dangel@k12.nd.us or call the school, 701-463-2818. If you decide not to attend, all schedules will be printed and available for your student on the first day of school. The first day of school is August 15th. Doors open at 8am with classes starting at 8:30am.
I hope to see you all on Wednesday!!
Thank You,
Steve Dangel
7-12 Principal
