We are ready to welcome students back to school and are excited for a phenomenal 2025-2026 school year!

All students in grades 7-12 will attend Homeroom this week.

Elementary School Dismissal Plans for the First Week of School:
No parking in front of the school after 2:45 pm daily to allow for buses to arrive and load safely. Buses will load on the west side of the building. West River Transit and Wally Wheels will park in the Catholic Church parking lot across from the elementary school. Bus riders are dismissed at 3:20. All other students will dismiss after buses have safely pulled away from the school.
Families are asked to wait and walk to the entrance to meet their children after that time or have a designated meeting location rather than parking in front of the school this year. We have staff to assist at the crosswalks for student safety.
updated football schedule

JH and HS football: The bus will leave at 2 tomorrow. This will give JH time to get their equipment before the 4:00 practice. Reminder to JH players and parents, fees and physicals need to be turned in to the Garrison High School office prior to leaving for Velva.
All, please do not park in the parking lot again so we can finish painting. Thank you.
We have been unsuccessful in finding a cross-country coach. Mrs Iglehart will run practices this week and continue to search for one. Practice will start tomorrow at 7am at the high school. Those interest must have their physicals turned in.
Don't forget: Elementary Picture Day is this Tuesday!
Bring your child between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm for their school photo! Go to the elementary school gym! This is for all students grade preschool through six, and staff members.
Any students or staff unable to attend will have photos taken at school on September 9.
Early childhood screening information for families in the Garrison school district:

All, on Monday we're painting lines in the high school parking lot. Please do not park there. Football players park in the street in front of the school. Thank you.
Here are some options for transportation to and from school if you are not on a rural bus route. Please contact them directly at the information provided on the attached flyers with any questions.

Thank you to the Dakota Territory Gun Collectors for their $2,500 donation to our Trap Team!
The North Dakota High School Activities Association has updated their fan ejection policy. Additionally, schools can set more requirements if they so choose, as these are the minimum. Hopefully, this is a non-issue for the upcoming year. It can be found here: https://ndhsaa.com/spectator-ejection-policy
Welcome back to School!
A few elementary school things to know:
*We do not have an official registration day since we sent the pre-registration forms home last spring. Any new families may find forms on our website and go to the district office (high school) during their office hours or come in when the elementary school office opens August 11. Stop in after August 11 to fill out forms for student medications or individual needs.
*Elementary Picture Day is August 12 from 7:20 am-2:30 pm in the elementary school gym. You may go directly to the north gym doors with your child to have their picture taken. If you cannot make it that day, retakes are on September 9.
*The school supply lists are available on our website. We typically have donations of supplies if you have difficulties finding anything on the lists.
*Elementary Open House will be August 18 from 3-4 PM for PreK-6. (Students who participate in at least 1 Gearing Up for Kindergarten session have their own special open house prior to this time.)
*The first day of school is August 19! Families are welcome to take photos with their children and teachers on the first day at drop-off.
*School begins each day at 8:30. Students are asked not to arrive before 8:00 am as we do not have staff to supervise them until 8. Breakfast starts at 8, and students may go to their classrooms beginning at 8:20.
*Reminder that school dismissal is at 3:00 on Wednesdays, and 3:25 other days of the week.
*We would like to ask for more help with activities and recognitions. Watch for a form with requests coming soon!
*Best In Class preschoolers on Mondays and Tuesdays are full day and will follow the same schedule as K-6, including eating lunch at school. You may pack a lunch or pay for the school meal.
*You may pay for student meals in either office prior to school starting. The free and reduced price application is available on our website.
*Our student handbook is on our website and may answer many of your questions. A reminder that no personal student cellular devices are allowed bell-to-bell. This should not be a significant change for elementary students, but we will have pouches for their storage this year if they bring them to school.
We are excited for a great year! Please contact Mrs. Fuller directly at the school via email or phone call with any questions. Michelle.fuller@k12.nd.us
