Congratulations to the following Garrison Archery students who were selected to All State. By keeping high shooting averages ALL season, these archers were nominated for the NASP All State Team. Qualifying scores: 250/300 for elementary, 275/300 for middle, 280/300 for high school. Good luck this weekend at State!!! These students will have an All State Shoot today before awards.

Power just went out at the school. Bus drivers have been alerted and they will be returning kids to their homes now. Sorry for the late notice. Thank you

My apologies for the extremely short notice, but I just received word from Ottertail Power regarding a powerline on fire. This particular line feeds our community and will require them to change it with no backup source. Meaning, we will be without power shortly for the next 6 hours or so. Therefore, school is cancelled for today!

All,
Just returned from my morning drive about. The gravel roads going all directions were generally good with drifting in normal locations. The highways are already being worked by our illustrious State Highway Department right here in Garrison. Overall, the visibility is good, but you will experience some reduced travel speeds because there's periodic ice. I'm anticipating the "no travel advisory" being lifted shortly. Fun fact... Did you know the "No Travel Advised" is generally geared towards semis in an attempt to keep them off the roadway. Keyword is generally.
Thanks and have a great day everyone!

March calendar of Elementary School events

Spring Season is sneaking up on us!
Game schedules can be found at

We are having so much fun on Leap Day at Bob Callies Elementary! Students have been searching for 60 frogs Mrs. Fuller hid throughout the building to gain a prize: to "leap ahead" in line all day as well as other prizes from her! The final frog was extremely elusive and was finally found at 2:00! We enjoyed 30 second dance parties, gifting teachers with treats, and even played leap frog in gym! Thanks for the fun idea, Mrs. Hansen, and for letting us borrow your frogs, Mrs. Schaible! This special day comes around once every 4 years so we had to make the most of it!

Reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Monday, March 11. We will dismiss school at 3:15 for the elementary and 3:20 at the HS that day to provide time to prepare for the evening conferences. Conferences will be held in each respective building, with elementary times scheduled and HS drop in between 4-8 PM. See you there!

Elementary Parents & Guardians,
Our school is using PTCFast.com to signup for Parent Teacher Conferences on March 11 this year. Please go to the following web address into your browser window:

Congratulations to Aidan and Eugene for advancing to the State MathCounts competition!! They will compete in Bismarck at the end of March.

Student Council has sponsored hat days in honor of a local family (and former and future Bob Callies Elementary students) in Heart Month. Baby Ellie Behles and her mom and dad came in today and we gave them what we have collected so far: over $680 to go toward medical bills and expenses they have had! One more week to help them during heart month! Thank you all for your generosity!

So proud of our students who competed in the Acalympics in Plaza today. After the first round, our students were in a 4 way tie for first. The top 3 teams move onto the lightening round. In the lightening round, we finished in second place, lost by 1 point. Great job, you represented our school so well!!

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Cole Glatt, owner of Zack Shack Fish Houses, for his generosity. He donated half the cost of the frame for us to build our portable dog house. The second picture shows what we intend to build. Also, trap sign up will be out in the very near future with the season beginning March 31.

A big thank you to Kevin from NDCEL who presented Crucial Conversations to all teachers today for Professional Development.

We would like to recognize and thank our SRO Dave Kamp on SRO Appreciation Day. Thank you for all you do for Admin, teachers, staff, and students. You are amazing. Our district is fortunate for all you do. Have a phenomenal day!!
