Congrats to Aiden Schmidt! He placed 11th (1st in class B) at State MathCounts!

PS... Buses will run where possible using driver's discretion.
All,
I just returned from South Prairie. To preface this announcement, this is not because I need a nap from getting home at 4:15 from post prom festivities. Visibility is becoming sparse and will likely remain through not great through the night due to ridiculous wind, roads are like an ice-skating rink both east/west and north/south, and our north/south gravel roads already have pretty good drifts. Due to these conditions, school will start at 10:00 with staff reporting at 9:30. There will be no breakfast served. Thanks, and have a great night.

If you don't want to venture out due to the weather, the Garrison High School Grand March will be on the Garrison Athletic YouTube channel. Grand March starts at 7:30. Reminder doors at the High School will open at 7:00.
Garrison High School Prom is Saturday March 23. Doors will open for students and dates at 6:15. We ask couples be there by 6:30-6:40. Grand March will be at 7:30 with doors opening to the public at 7:00. We ask that all family members take any last pictures and leave shortly after the Grand March ends. We still plan to go to Minot for the Post Prom party provided by the Optimist Club. When couples leave the dance, they will not be allowed back in. Thank you!!
School will be on time this morning, but do allow for extra time for travel as there are several areas with scattered ice and compacted snow. Plows are out working.
Thanks.

Harmony Kallberg, Molly Jochim, and Bella Wimer in congratulating them and giving them props for competing at FFA State Winter CDEs! They've been putting a lot of time in the last few weeks. Both Harmony and Molly received bronzes, only a few points shy of silver, and Bella received a silver. Good work ladies and we look forward to what lies ahead!

Reminder for those doing trap... Steps one and two need to be completed and then online fees and school fees need to be paid by March 25.

starts tomorrow!

Congrats to Bella, Fish, and Kendall for making the all state competitor's team. They all had to compete in a shootout to earn this distinction along with others! Job well done!

Congratulations to the following Garrison Archery students who were selected to All State. By keeping high shooting averages ALL season, these archers were nominated for the NASP All State Team. Qualifying scores: 250/300 for elementary, 275/300 for middle, 280/300 for high school. Good luck this weekend at State!!! These students will have an All State Shoot today before awards.

Power just went out at the school. Bus drivers have been alerted and they will be returning kids to their homes now. Sorry for the late notice. Thank you
My apologies for the extremely short notice, but I just received word from Ottertail Power regarding a powerline on fire. This particular line feeds our community and will require them to change it with no backup source. Meaning, we will be without power shortly for the next 6 hours or so. Therefore, school is cancelled for today!

All,
Just returned from my morning drive about. The gravel roads going all directions were generally good with drifting in normal locations. The highways are already being worked by our illustrious State Highway Department right here in Garrison. Overall, the visibility is good, but you will experience some reduced travel speeds because there's periodic ice. I'm anticipating the "no travel advisory" being lifted shortly. Fun fact... Did you know the "No Travel Advised" is generally geared towards semis in an attempt to keep them off the roadway. Keyword is generally.
Thanks and have a great day everyone!

March calendar of Elementary School events

Spring Season is sneaking up on us!

We are having so much fun on Leap Day at Bob Callies Elementary! Students have been searching for 60 frogs Mrs. Fuller hid throughout the building to gain a prize: to "leap ahead" in line all day as well as other prizes from her! The final frog was extremely elusive and was finally found at 2:00! We enjoyed 30 second dance parties, gifting teachers with treats, and even played leap frog in gym! Thanks for the fun idea, Mrs. Hansen, and for letting us borrow your frogs, Mrs. Schaible! This special day comes around once every 4 years so we had to make the most of it!
