Join us with the Canned Fruit and Vegetable Collection Challenge this week for the Garrison Food Pantry! I’ve been out driving highways this morning and roads west of Garrison are snow covered with ice beneath them. Travel speeds are reduced, but drivable (no cruise control). Plows have headed East of Garrison not west as I write this post. Please allow for extra time to travel this morning. School will start on time. My next concern will be the wind, as it’s supposed to pick by this afternoon which could cause blizzard conditions. I will continue to monitor this throughout the day. Drive safe!

We are in desperate need of additional sub bus drivers. If you or someone you know would be willing to drive, please have them contact me as soon as possible. Drivers are required to have a Class B driver's license, which we we will assist you in getting along with a physical that we pay for each driver. Many of us have filled in as much as we are able to, but it is likely there will be some days in near the future we may have to cancel routes on select days and parents will have to pick up their children due to no subs. We are paying $25/hour to sub as a bus driver and the average trip is be 2.5-3 hours pending weather. Please call me at 701-463-2818 if you're interested or email me at nick.klemisch@k12.nd.us
Thank you.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, school will dismiss at 2:30 to ensure all students and staff can get home safely while it’s still light out. The school board meeting tonight will continue as planned, but all other activities are canceled.
Thank you and stay safe.

Due to the high winds causing limited visibility and now snow drifts filling in gravel roads, we will NOT be running buses this afternoon. Any rural family who would choose to get their children early will be excused for the day. If this weather continues as the forecast indicates, we most likely not run buses tomorrow morning too. Another alert will be sent tonight to confirm this if it’s necessary.

I attempted to do my normal scenic route and let’s just say I made it about a half mile until I came across a snow drift as tall as my hood on my pickup (no, I didn’t attempt to drive through it). Nonetheless, we will not be running buses in the morning. School will start at 10:30 with staff reporting at 10:00.

Have a safe and enjoyable 3 day weekend! School resumes on Tuesday!

We did not get much snow last night, but it appears (via my windshield) it’s starting to sprinkle. In town roads are good along with gravel roads; however, the highways are starting to get somewhat slippery. Nonetheless, sanding trucks are heading out. Please allow for extra time in your travels this morning. Have a great day!

Fourth graders have been busy!
Mrs. C Gehring's class built STEM snowmen practicing measuring, radius, and diameter!
Mrs. K Gehring/Miss Kolden’s 4th Graders built and decorated pop tart houses!

Effective for the next football season, grades 7-12 will be combined with Velva. Both boards passed this unanimously with all feeling this is a tremendous opportunity for our players. Additionally, the Varsity season opener against Hazen will be played in Garrison. There will be additional information to come regarding logistics. Lastly, we are also in need of a coach from Garrison. If you’re interested, please let Mr. Ermer or myself know. Thank you.

Our students are enjoying a nice outdoor recess in snowy North Dakota!

Congratulations to Nate K! He has met all of the 6th grade Dreambox math standards! Way to go!

Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, especially our own Deputy Dave Kamp! Please show your appreciation to all those who keep our communities safe.
