All…
We are still anxiously awaiting the guidance from the Governor and the NDDPI regarding what are specific plans are going to be for the upcoming school year. We are hoping we are given some degree of flexibility when we develop our plans moving forwards. The most obvious matter we will be contending with is the greater need for sanitizing to accompany our regular cleaning schedule. We have purchased some machines to assist us in this process. Nevertheless, we will be developing a plan and intend to garner input from others prior to our submission to the state. More to come on this once the guidance is released to us.
On a different note, the buildings are still under remodel. We have several classrooms with new flooring with several more to come along with the hallways. A majority of the new lights are installed, and the network is also receiving an upgrade. Additionally, there has been an immense amount of painting completed with a bit more to go. Specific to the remodel at the high west entrance, this is slated to be done by August. The remaining portions of this should be completed prior to our anticipated start date of August 19. What is done looks awesome! We may have older buildings, but these enhancements definitely do a lot to the feel of the interior. We believe this will be well received by all and we can’t wait for others to see it and our students to enjoy it.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
Dr. Nick Klemisch, Superintendent

School is approaching soon!
Registration is August 6 in each building from 8 AM-6 PM.
Elementary pictures are during registration this year with Jostens in the gym, so bring your PreK-6th grade child(ren) to take their photo(s). (We will have 1 retake day in case you cannot attend.)
We will have our Reading Counts store set up during registration in the elementary gym to shop points earned for students entering grades 1-7, as well!

We’d like to give a shout out to the parents and volunteers who made prom memorable for our students! Thank you!

Reminder there will be NO weights and agility for the rest of this week. We will start again on Monday.

This past week’s lifter’s of the week are Jamison and Grady. Thank you for your dedication!
Please note weights will only be today and Tuesday this week. We will resume on Monday, July 6.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to CHS of Garrison for fertilizing our football and practice field once again this year. It is greatly appreciated!

Our JH and High School top performers for summer weights and agility training for the first two weeks are Abigail, Iasabelle, TJ, Connor, and Coryssa. Thank you for your dedication and willingness to go above and beyond what’s asked of you!

The school calendar for next year should now be right. The spreadsheet auto filled numbers causing the errors. If we missed an error, please let us know. The calendar can be found on the app or on our website in the documents section.

Prom Details

A little more news about Prom! There will be a meeting on Monday, the 15th at 6pm at the City Park to discuss options for prom. There is a lot of interest from parents to make this a fun event for our kids, so please share and join the meeting on Monday.

News from the Prom Committee concerning this years prom:
Unfortunately GHS will not be able to have prom this year. There is still an executive order restricting the number of people to 15 people per room within a school. Sorry for the delay in the announcement but we were hoping more restrictions would be lifted.
Other communities are having prom through parent-led initiatives that are not on school grounds. If there is a group interested in doing this, we could arrange for the already-purchased prom decorations to be used.

Lisa Maki and Duane Hummel have secured their positions on the school board but the race between Kelly Cooper and Julie Retterath is too close to call until all postmarked ballots are received prior to canvassing.

Dr. K. here.... with some updates.
The school calendar is now updated on our website and has the ends of the quarters along with PT Conferences on it.
The high school remodel is making progress. Drywall is starting to in along with the new steel beams. I would estimate us to be about 2/3’s done with this project. All the new lights are in the gymnasium along with those above the stage. Regarding the elementary all the classrooms that we could empty have been emptied. The northern half of the elementary has the new ceiling tiles in and the new light fixtures will be nearing completion at day’s end today in this part of the building. All the hallways floors have been stripped and the old lighting will begin being removed in the old part of the building tomorrow. Flooring guys still have carpet to remove in both buildings. Once this is completed they have to put a contact glue down before they can lay the carpet tiles. This process should begin approximately Thursday with carpet hopefully starting the end of next week. Painting is nearly complete in both buildings with only touch-ups to do along with trim work and the upper walls in the elementary gym.
