
Any elementary student who signed up for the Velva Football Camp, the bus will be leaving promptly at 8:00 am on Monday, June 9, 2025 should you want a ride. Bring a water bottle. All football players in grades 9-12 should also be attending to help with the camp. We finish both days at 11:30 and will be returning home immediately following the end of camp each day arriving back at approximately 12:30.

Reminder... Summer weights starts tomorrow at 7:00, 8:00, or 9:00 am with Mr. Folk for all students entering grades 7-12 FREE of charge.

Attention 9-11th grade students and parents. Summer school letters went out last week. If you are interested in summer school or need to make up credit for a class from this past school year, please stop by the school on Tuesday or Thursday this week and talk with Mr. Dangel. I am available from 7-3 on these days. Summer school will start on June 2.

The Region baseball tournament has been moved to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Brackets will be released soon.

The halls are quiet and the 2024-2025 school year is complete. We celebrated the accomplishments of our 23 graduates yesterday!! Class of 2025, thank you for all you have done.






Today we recognized several staff members at our annual staff luncheon. Congratulations to Mrs. Debra Youngs on her retirement, Teacher of the Year (also retiring) Mrs. Ronda Kohler, Paraprofessional of the Year Mrs. Kristine Talbott, and Support Staff of the Year Mrs. Melanie Heinzen! We are proud of all of you and thank you for your dedicated service to public education!




Any student entering seventh grade through twelfth grade can attend our summer weight lifting program with Mr. Folk FREE of charge! It starts on June 2 and times are 7:00 am, 8:00 am, or 9:00 am to workout.

Special congratulations to Mrs. Ruud on receiving being honored with the Saint John Bosco Education Ambassador Award from the North Dakota National Guard for her exceptional commitment to her students and partnership with the guard! Well done!


Due to the wet conditions and the unpredictable weather forecast today, we will have our field day events at the elementary this afternoon.

Attention Seniors: We need to move our graduation practice to Wednesday after our awards banquet. I need to make this change due to a family funeral on Thursday that will take me out of the school. Please try to make arrangements. Thank you and have a phenomenal day!!

We will be having a High School Activity awards ceremony on Wednesday May 14th starting at 1:45 at the High School. All are welcome to attend.

We had a great Kindergarten Bike Parade today! Thank you to all who came out to support us, and thank you to our McLean County Sheriff's escorts!











Garrison Community: please be on the lookout on Friday afternoon around 2:10 pm for our kindergarteners as they bike from the elementary school down Main Street and back to the school! We have enjoyed our program from the All Kids Bike Grant we obtained last year!


Our fourth graders toured the State Capitol and Heritage Center and State Museum yesterday and were honored to meet Governor Kelly Armstrong! He was gracious enough to answer some questions and take a photo with our group! What a memorable experience!



What a great show the Garrison High School and Junior High put on last night! A huge thank you to all of you who provided pies. This event wouldn't be successful without all of your generosity. On top of beautiful entertainment, the following awards were given out.

Congratulations to our Poppy Poster winners for each division. Each winner will be sent on to the state level and received $10 in Garrison Bucks.
Thank you to all who participated in the Poppy Poster contest. The Memorial Day program is on Monday, May 26th at 10 am. All the posters will be displayed at this program. You are invited to join them for the program and stay for cookies and juice afterwards.
